Grandma came up to Austin, TX for Brad's farewell. These pictures were in December of 2007, so about a year ago. I remember when all of the Taylors sang in church the last Sunday before Brad went on his mission and afterwards she said that she absolutely loved the musical number. She has always loved music and always appreciated it. I know that I am thankful for that. She has always encouraged me to continue playing the piano. Just a few weeks ago when mom went out to see her, I had mom record my latest song on the piano to show her but I messed up pretty bad at the end. I tried again, but did the same thing, so I just gave up and told mom to show her that one anyway. So when I talked to her she said, "the song was beautiful...but you need to keep practicing." She was always very persistent with that. I loved it! Here is Grandma and Brad.

This is a blog dedicated to Joyce Shumway. This is Brooke Liddell, her granddaughter, who is putting it together by request. Feel free to comment on any of the posts. We would love to hear anything that you remember about our wonderful wife/sister/mom/grandma/great-grandma. Please feel free to leave anything in the comments. I am going to try to compile the comments after I get them and make them a post of their own. Thanks! Oh, and if you have any pictures of Joyce, please send them to my email: brookethedook@hotmail.com

Hi, my name is Natalie Shumway. I am a niece to Walter. I just wanted to wish you my condolences at this time. I only was able to visit with Aunt Joyce a few times, but thought she was a nice lady and that she made Uncle Walter very happy. May you find peace and comfort in the knowledge we have of the plan of salvation as you deal with your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
